Caitlin Clark’s Teammate Sophie Cunningham Vaults To Superstardom After Finally Standing Up For Her

I’ve gotta get myself a Sophie Cunningham jersey! This is incredible stuff!

Sophie Cunningham, a guard for the Indiana Fever, is witnessing praise being rained down on her after she stuck up for her teammate Caitlin Clark. She did so by slapping Connecticut Sun guard Jacy Sheldon with a hard foul Tuesday night.

The confrontation between Cunningham and Sheldon ended up escalating into a pushing match prior to players from each the Fever and Sun running over to break things up. Referees made the move to eject Cunningham, Sheldon and Connecticut guard Lindsay Allen from the contest with around 40 seconds remaining prior to Indiana getting the win.

Cunningham’s hard foul followed Sheldon knocking Clark in the face, poking her in the eye, during the third quarter of action. Connecticut guard Marina Mabrey pushed Clark down on the court in the aftermath of Sheldon’s swipe, punch, whatever you wanna call it.

You can watch the Cunningham hard foul here, and the Clark scene that sparked everything up below:

And let the Sophie Cunningham praise commence!

As soon as Sophie Cunningham jerseys are back in stock, just like a lot of Florida Panthers championship merchandise that I tried to buy Tuesday night, you better believe I’m going to be there happily handing out my money.

Go Sophie! (AND GO CATS!)
