Turns out it really is that hard to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes.

A mom influencer has sustained an injury to her spine after attempting to take part in the viral Nicki Minaj stiletto challenge that has taken TikTok by storm in recent weeks.

In an Instagram clip, influencer Mariana Vasiuc can be seen balancing on top of a tub of baby formula, stacked on top of a saucepan, while wearing a pair of high heels. Off to the side, someone holds her hand as she attempts to solo balance on a kitchen counter.

However, almost as soon as she lets go of the hand, she loses her balance and the saucepan slides out from underneath her, causing her to topple off the back of the counter.

In a since-deleted caption, the influencer shed light on the outcome of the fall, writing that she had sustained a compression flexion fracture.

“Irony? Karma? Or just life, which always tests our strength at the most unexpected moment. 🤣, ” the influencer wrote lightheartedly in the caption.

The trend is inspired by a pose that rapper Nicki Minaj does in the music video for her 2013 song “High School,” featuring Lil Wayne, where she balances on high heels next to a pool. Recently, it has taken TikTok by storm, with people practicing their balancing skills on all sorts of objects.

One viral video, with over 61.7 million views, shows a nail salon worker balancing in gold stilettos on the caps of two bottles of nail polish. Other random objects that people have made work as balance beams while participating in the trend include a container of Spam, a children’s car race track set, and one user went as far as to surf in her heels.

Vasiuc, who recently gave birth, wrote in a follow-up post that thanks to the fall, she had woken up a “popular person.”

“More than 50 people sent me my reel from different publications today,” she continued.

“I’m doing great, following the guidelines and now living in ‘star’ status 👌🏽,” Vasiuc assured her followers.
